Residents at Douglas Court recently enjoyed a lovely trip to the local Matlock Bath, making the most of the chance to explore somewhere different, enjoy the fresh air and spend time together.
The group took a leisurely tour through the beautiful surroundings, taking in the views and enjoying a change of scenery before stopping for a traditional fish and chip lunch. No seaside-style outing would be complete without something sweet, so the day ended with dinky doughnuts by the river.

Outings like these offer more than just a pleasant day away from home. Walking and exploring new surroundings provide opportunities for gentle physical activity, while getting outdoors can help lift spirits and give residents a welcome change to their usual routine.
Just as importantly, sharing experiences with friends encourages conversation, laughter and social connection. Whether admiring the scenery, enjoying a favourite meal or reminiscing along the way, these simple moments can make a real difference to everyday wellbeing.
At Douglas Court, activities and outings help residents stay connected to the world around them, enjoy new experiences and make lasting memories together. The trip to Matlock Bath was a lovely example of how getting out and about can support both physical and mental wellbeing, with good food, beautiful views and plenty of company along the way.
